When you think about MVP the first thought that comes to your head is Kris Bryant, right?! It’s expected that he will win unanimously. After all, he played on a team that won 103 games, led the NL in WAR (7.7), ripped 39 home runs, drove in 102 and finished fourth with a .939 OPS. Not too shabby.
The Cubs were shut out in two other categories though, NL Manager of the Year (Joe Maddon) & NL Cy Young Award (Jon Lester & Kyle Hendricks). Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts took home NL Manager of the Year, and Nationals pitcher, Max Scherzer, has the NL Cy Young this year.
Bryant is up against Washington Nationals, Daniel Murphy, and NL Rookie of the year award winner, Corey Seager from Los Angeles Dodgers.
